COMPOSITE SYSTEMS IN GENERAL
The term "composite" identifies materials where one or more discontinuous phases, generally featuring outstanding mechanical characteristics (reinforcement) are drowned in continuous phase (matrix) (Picture1).
Ancient Egyptians were producing composite bricks by mixing together clay and straw.
