2.5 GUIDE LINES FOR THE CHOICE OF MATERIALS
I.A.R. produces various types of carbon fiber tapes and tissues.
The characteristics of the reinforcements change with the arrangement of the fibers, namely (Picture 4):
1) Unidirectional, with all the fibers running in the same direction
2) Bidirectional, where the fibers run to 0º and to 90º if the quantity of fibers is the same in both directions, the reinforcement is "balanced", otherwise it is "unbalanced"
3) Biaxial, when fibers run at +45º
The width of the reinforcement can vary from 1,3 to 126 cm.
