On brickworks it is profitably used :

1) to bind together damaged buildings or parts there of, to stitch crack ends and restore the box behaviour of the whole structure
2) to reduce out-of-plumb conditions
3) to absorb tensile loads of static and or dynamic origin on arches, vaults and domes
4) to upgrade resistance to horizontal stresses, both on and out of plane, due to settlement of foundations, un-contrasted thrust of roofs or seismic events, ect.

On wooden structures:

1) to improve the carrying capacity and to restrain deformations within acceptable limits, reducing previously the freccia o abbassamento by jachup.
